HMDA vs DTCP plot approvals explained

What the approval on a plot listing actually means and how to check it.

HMDA approves layouts within the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority area; DTCP approves layouts outside it.

An approved layout means roads, open spaces and plot sizes follow the sanctioned plan. Ask for the layout permit number and verify it with the authority.

Also check the plot is not in a lake buffer or government land, and confirm the title with a lawyer.
